Marissa Knight is an associate attorney on Freeman & Fuson’s family law team. She joined the firm as a paralegal in February 2015 while she was a student at Nashville School of Law, and she stayed on as an attorney after she was licensed in Tennessee in 2018. She credits the firm’s seasoned attorneys, who have always been generous with their guidance, as the reason she never wanted to practice anywhere else.

Marissa handles adoptions, custody, divorce, child support, grandparent visitation, estate matters, conservatorships, partitions of real property, and name changes. She has handled family law cases in courts across Middle Tennessee and is admitted to practice in Tennessee and in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.

Marissa grew up in Dayton, Tennessee. She earned her B.A. in History and Political Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and her J.D. from Nashville School of Law. She was elected to the school’s Honor Council and took part in the Juvenile Law Clinic at Davidson County Juvenile Court.

Marissa spends her free time with her husband, their son, and their Aussiedoodle, Smokey. She also enjoys hiking, gardening, and days on the lake.
